No one goes, "Rape scandal? Well, that's the school for me!"Īlso if a public uni in eu decided to accept people because their parents went to the school that wouldnt be a good look for them. If you're taking issue with this which I said, then let me clarify and say "presumably good name", as it was implied. Most students HAVE TO carry through if they want any chance of finishing their education at all.Īnd sullies the good name of your institution. And we can't demand that they should have transferred on some moral principle, as the world isn't so black and white and such an undertaking is a huge setback that could end an academic career.

But where do we draw the line? A school that can't manage the campus or their student body and their safety shouldn't be rewarded by getting their graduates placed - a testament to the efficacy of the institution, but that's also unfairly putting the burden of the institution on the individual graduates - who don't have to answer for the failings of their institution, especially if they weren't involved. I see how you conflate the two, and I sympathize. If there were a rape on campus - since you had to go there, that doesn't mean I avoid candidates from that school because the school produces rapists. If a school has a scandal, that doesn't necessarily mean they're producing scandalous candidates. There are online universities I will not consider the applicant for, even some traditional universities. If I interview one shitty candidate after another from the same school, I would come to the conclusion the school produces shit candidates, and I may start taking fast passes as more applicants from that same school show up on my desk. It does, and I think you're missing the point. It doesnt, there are prestigious colleges that have rape scandals and peoeple still apply to them. if your post does not appear in the new queue, just send a message to the moderators.make your questions relevant to other readers.give your post a meaningful title, i.e., NOT "I have a C++ problem" but, e.g., "Problem with nested for loops".thoroughly research for an answer first.Tips for improving your chances of getting helpful answers: Read these guidelines for how to ask smart questions.įor learning books, check The Definitive C++ Book Guide and Listįlair your post as SOLVED if you got the help you were looking for!
